Roy G. Eversole Elementary

Our Elementary, Middle and High School teams have won district and regional competitions with many children being able to compete at the state level.

The Middle and High School speech teams have an outstanding record in state competition. Hazard Independent Schools offers a variety of extracurricular activities for our students. They include the Academic team, Science Olympiad, Speech, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Cheerleading, Track, Golf, Volleyball, and our award winning Band of Gold.

Hazard High School

Academically, we consistently rank in the upper 25% of all Kentucky schools. During the last CATS testing cycle, Hazard High School ranked within the top 10% of all Kentucky schools. Athletically, our Bulldogs have won at both district and regional levels in several sports throughout the years.

Perry County School District

Hazard Christian Academy

The Hazard Christian Academy is a private, Baptist school located in Hazard, Kentucky. Built upon a strong basis in faith, this private Academy provides an education experience unlike any other.

Hazard Community & Technical College

Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) is a comprehensive community and technical college committed to learning success. We partner with students of all ages and backgrounds, helping each design a satisfying future filled with accomplishment.

Challenger Learning Center of Kentucky

The CLCKY provides a first class, space-based learning environment where schoolchildren, families, senior citizens, corporate teams and other community members “fly” simulated space missions. The CLCKY features a Mission Control Center modeled after the one at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, a Transporter/Space Shuttle, and a Spacecraft/Space Station simulator where experiments are performed and probes are assembled and “launched” into the depths of outer space.

New Beginnings Learning Center

More than just daycare, New Beginnings offers a comprehensive approach to early care and education. Each staff member has had courses and ongoing professional development in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. At the minimum, our staff have a Commonwealth Child Care Credential, with most having earned a Child Development Associate certificate, and some lead teachers and program directors having earned a bachelors or masters level degree in education.

LKLP Head Start

Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks. They enjoy playing in a safe indoor and outdoor setting. Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Most children in Head Start are between the ages of three and five years old. Services are also available to infants and toddlers at selected sites.
